Le Maire: French inflation to decline from mid-2023
French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire asserted on Thursday that inflation will begin decreasing from the middle of this year. "Inflation should decline from mid-2023, I [can] confirm that," Le Maire said in an interview with the local channel La Chaine Info (LCI).
The annual consumer price growth in France accelerated this month, increasing to 6% led by the increase in food and energy prices. On the other hand, yesterday's preliminary data showed that the country successfully escaped recession in the last quarter of 2022, with the economy expanding by a modest 0.1%.
