Leadsom confirms no vote on Brexit bill next week

Leader of the House of Commons Andrea Leadsom confirmed earlier media reports on Thursday, stating that the law makers' agenda for the next week does not include a vote on the Brexit bill. It remains to be seen when the lower chamber of Parliament would vote again on the withdrawal agreement.

Meanwhile, Minister for the Cabinet Office David Lidington noted that the timing on when the Brexit deal would be put up for vote largely depends on the talks with the Labour party. Previously, media reports suggested that Prime Minister Theresa May is expected to include small concessions in the bill in the hopes that they would persuade various parliamentary groups to support it, including reassurances on workers' rights for the benefit of Labour MPs, as well as alternative technological solutions to the Irish backstop in order to win over the European Research Group Brexiteers.
