Leclerc takes pole for Monaco Grand Prix

Charles Leclerc will start the Monaco Grand Prix on pole position for the second straight year after a late crash involving Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz brought qualifying on Saturday to a halt.

Sainz followed Leclerc into a Ferrari front-row lock-out but ended up running into third-placed Sergio Perez who had hit the barriers. Red Bull's Max Verstappen qualified fourth.

"It is very special, I am so incredibly happy, it has been a very smooth weekend up until now. It went perfectly up until now and that last lap before the red flag was really, really good," the Ferrari driver said after the race.
