Linde's Q4 sales down 5% to $7.9 billion
Germany-based chemical company Linde plc revealed Thursday that its sales in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2022 fell 5% to $7.9 billion compared with the same period in 2021. For the year to December 31, Linde's sales totaled $33.3 billion, up 8% from 2021.
The company's full-year operating profit rose 8% to $5.4 billion, while in the last quarter and compared to the same period in 2021, the firm reported $1.7 billion. 2022 earnings per share rose 12% to $8.23, as for the quarter to December 31, jumped 35% to $2.67.
"Despite the challenging environment, the Linde team delivered outstanding performance including a record ROC of 22.9%, expanding margin to 25.3%, and a ninth consecutive quarter of delivering 20% or more EPS growth ex.FX. This resilient performance is a result of our balanced end market portfolio, unrivaled network density, and rigorous capital discipline," CEO Sanjiv Lamba said.
