LNA denies responsibility for Tripoli attack

The Libyan National Army (LNA) said it was not responsible for an attack on Tripoli earlier on Wednesday, Sputnik reported. The shelling of the Libyan capital left at least four dead and over 20 injured.

"Tonight, the Libyan army did not use heavy weapons during military operations," an LNA spokesman told the Russian news agency. He stated that there are other groups in the region that are "intentionally targeting residential neighborhoods in Tripoli using Grad launchers to put the blame on the LNA."

The LNA, led by Khalifa Haftar, started an offensive on Tripoli earlier this month which has so far resulted in dozens of casualties. The move has been widely condemned by the international community.
