Lot of work to be done on Brexit deal - Barnier

Following constructive technical-level talks with the British negotiators over the weekend, European Union chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier (pictured) stated on Sunday a lot of work remains to be done before an agreement on the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the bloc can be reached. Negotiations are set to continue tomorrow, the representative said.

Earlier today, media reported officials participating in the negotiations echoed the same sentiment, with a representative from Northern Ireland expressing concerns over the proposals laid out by London and Downing Street negotiators threatening again to leave the EU without a deal.

In addition, Labour head Jeremy Corbyn said he will advise MPs to vote against any agreement reached by Prime Minister Boris Johnson's government, asserting he wants a deal that resembles the "five pillars" his party put forward.
