Macron announces over €4B in foreign investments
French President Emmanuel Macron unveiled on Sunday €4 billion worth of foreign investments in 21 projects. The ventures will create over 10,000 jobs, the president's office said in a statement.
The largest investment will come from Eastman Chemical Company, which will pay €850 million to build a recycling plant in an as-yet-unknown location. Swedish furniture giant Ikea will contribute €650 million, which will go toward projects related to the circular economy and sustainable transport. Meanwhile, German chemical company BASF SE will invest around €300 million in a production unit in north-eastern France, Elysee said.
