Magnitude 5.1 earthquake hits Hawaii

A 5.1-magnitude earthquake was recorded in Hawaii on Tuesday, according to data provided by the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

The epicenter of the quake was 47 kilometers southeast of the city of Hilo, which is home to around 45,000 per the 2020 Census.

The tremor struck the region at a shallow depth of 1.9 kilometers and it remains unknown, as of yet, whether any damages were suffered.
