Malaysia Airlines halts Boeing 737 MAX deliveries

Malaysia Airlines said on Wednesday that it decided to halt the deliveries of 25 Boeing 737 MAX planes scheduled to begin in June 2020 as a result of the model remaining grounded due to a software issue which caused two fatal crashes.

"In view of the production stoppage and the delayed return to service of the 737-MAX, Malaysia Airlines has suspended the delivery of its orders," the airline said.

On Tuesday, Boeing said its orders in 2019 declined by 87 compared to the previous year, marking the first annual drop in decades.
