Manchester Utd owners to explore sale - report
Manchester United owners, the Glazer family are reportedly considering the sale of the football club, Sky News cited sources familiar with the matter on Tuesday. The Glazer family, who acquired roughly 97% of voting power in the football team between 2003 and 2005, is apparently seeking more investment, which might take the form of a full or partial sale or a strategic partnership with third parties.
The speculation comes months after Billionaire and Ineos owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe allegedly expressed interest in purchasing Manchester United, as news of the Glazer family selling a minority stake in the club circulated causing the stock to rise sharply. Earlier this year, the Premier League Board cleared the acquisition of Chelsea Football Club by the Todd Boehly-led group.
