May considers delaying Brexit - report

British Prime Minister Theresa May is reportedly considering proposing a plan to her Cabinet to delay United Kingdom's departure from the European Union, scheduled for March 29, UK media reported.

According to a report by the Sun, despite saying earlier that "a delay doesn't deliver a deal," May will now propose ruling out a no-deal Brexit and thus postpone UK's exit from the EU for weeks or even months. The reason for the change of heart is prime minister's attempt to keep her Brexit deal alive and avoid a defeat in the House of Commons as so-called "Remain" Tory ministers have enough support to defeat her Brexit motion in a vote on Wednesday. May will reportedly keep the no-deal option for later and use it in negotiations with Brussels.

The report comes after the Labour Party said it would support a second referendum on the withdrawal from the EU in case the alternative plan laid out by party's Leader Jeremy Corbyn gets rejected.
