May says Labour talks are 'difficult in some areas'

United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May characterized Brexit talks with the Labour Party as "difficult in some areas." Her spokesperson told reporters the discussions have been "serious" but that the two sides have trouble agreeing to the timetable for negotiations.

A government source voiced frustration to Sky News, stating, "Our position is we need to get this done, theirs is 'we need more time'." Meanwhile, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said the government has to change its stance in order to reach a compromise with the opposition. "We cannot go on just hearing this tired old mantra that the Brexit agreement has to be adhered to," he noted.

The UK and the European Union agreed to postpone Brexit until the end of October, although the prime minister insisted Britain can leave the union by the end of May and avoid holding the European elections.
