McCarthy: No deal before election due to Pelosi

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said on Thursday he believes lawmakers won't be able to reach a stimulus deal before the November 3 election.

Asked by reporters whether he thinks a deal is still possible despite recent setbacks, McCarthy replied: "As long as speaker Pelosi is [around] I think the answer is easily no."

Earlier, President Donald Trump shared a different perspective, stating that he feels an agreement is still possible as there is "a lot of pressure" on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
