Meadows: US not going to control pandemic

The United States is "not going to control the [coronavirus] pandemic," White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows (pictured) asserted on Sunday, though the Trump administration is "making efforts to contain it."

"What we need to do is make sure that we have the proper mitigation factors, whether it's therapies or vaccines or treatments to make sure that people don't die from this," Meadows said in an interview with CNN.

The White House official also claimed that US Vice President Mike Pence is "essential personnel" and he "has to continue on" with his campaigning activities despite the fact his Chief of Staff Marc Short tested positive for COVID-19.
