Mexico's parliament must ratify border deal – Trump

A part of the security agreement reached with Mexico will be made public "in the not to distant future" after which the country's lawmakers will have to pass it," United States President Donald Trump said on Twitter on Monday. He claimed the section of the border deal is "fully signed and documented" and that the administration in Washington has been demanding it for "many years."

Trump has suspended the introduction of import tariffs for Mexican merchandise as the provisionary accord was inked. He has threatened the southern neighbor with a trade war, claiming it failed to curb illegal immigration into the US. "We do not anticipate a problem with the vote but, if for any reason the approval is not forthcoming, Tariffs will be reinstated!" the president wrote on his personal account.

Earlier, he stated Mexico is contributing more to handle the issue than the Democratic Party and accused the opposition of advocating for open borders "which means Illigal Immigration, Drugs and Crime."
