Moderate recovery to be expected - BoJ's Kuroda

Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda (pictured) asserted on Wednesday that Japan, and other economies, are looking at moderate improvements at best, as the number of people infected with coronavirus rises.

Kuroda noted that the central bank of Japan will continue to closely follow the developments in the country's economy and stressed that it won't hesitate to take "whatever measures are necessary" to counteract the negative impact of the pandemic.

A "moderate recovery" is a notion that Kuroda announced in the middle of July when he claimed that Japan's central bank is ready to cut the interest rates in order to facilitate economic healing.
