Moon urges tougher response to pandemic

South Korean President Moon Jae-in urged on Monday his country's government to implement a tougher approach to combating the COVID-19 pandemic as the current rules that dictate social distancing are apparently not enough.

"The strong virus prevention measures like those now are just an emergency means, which can be used temporarily in a short period and can't be sustainable," Moon stated.

Earlier this month, the South Korean government decided to extend the ongoing measures for two weeks.
