Moscow imposes complete lockdown due to COVID-19

The local authorities in Moscow said 12.5 million residents of the Russian capital will be under lockdown starting Monday in order to curb the coronavirus spread. That means citizens won’t be allowed to leave their homes at all with the exceptions for medical workers and people buying food and medicine.

Mayor Sergei Sobyanin did not announce how long the lockdown will last.

According to the latest information, the total number of people infected was 1,534 with 64 of them being reportedly recovered. The death toll in the country reached eight people.
