Moscow 'ready to consider' any proof of meddling in US election

Russia's presidential aide Yuri Ushakov (pictured left) stated on Friday that Moscow is willing to consider any proof the United States have that it meddled in the 2016 US presidential election.

"The Russian state has never interfered and has no intention of interfering in US elections," Ushakov insisted. "If the Americans have any facts, then we are ready to consider them," he added.

Russia's alleged interference in US politics is set to be brought up at the upcoming meeting between US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on July 16 in Helsinki. Trump said he intends to discuss the issue with Putin, but pointed out he doesn't expect the Russian president to admit to meddling. Meanwhile, the US indicted 12 Russian intelligence officers earlier in the day for hacking into the computers of the Democratic National Committee prior to the 2016 election.
