Most Asian stocks down ahead of RBA interest rate

Equities on the Asian markets traded mostly lower on Tuesday with investors awaiting the Reserve Bank of Australia's (RBA) monetary policy statement and interest rate decision, also keeping their focus on the ongoing coronavirus pandemic as the number of global infections nears 115 million.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite fell by 1.02% at 04:20 am CET, with the Shenzhen Composite losing 0.53% a minute later. Hong Kong's Hang Seng traded 0.81% lower at 04:24 am CET. Japan's Nikkei 225 went down by 0.37% at 03:35 am CET.

The Australian S&P 200 edged 0.2% higher at 04:23 am CET, as South Korea's Kospi gained 1.42%. The dollar traded 0.01% lower against the yen, going for ¥1.6.7635 at 04:25 am CET.
