Musk promises pickup truck after Model Y

The founder of Tesla, Inc. Elon Musk has vowed to produce an electric pickup truck after the Model Y, a small SUV which is reportedly in later stages of development. The chief executive reveled the news in a Twitter conversation following an expression of gratitude to Tesla owners.

Musk said: "I promise that we will make a pickup truck right after Model Y. Have had the core design/engineering elements in my mind for almost 5 years. Am dying to build it." Answering a question on size, the CEO commented that the pickup would be similar to Ford F-150 truck, but "slightly bigger to account for a really gamechanging (I think) feature I’d like to add," he concluded.

Last week, UPS announced that it placed a reservation for 125 of Tesla's new semi trucks. On November 17, the automaker unveiled its electric semi-truck, with a surprise display of a second generation Tesla Roadster.
