N. Korea: Strong response to follow US military moves
A spokesperson for North Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Pyongyang will counter any military attempt by the United States with a strong response.
Speaking to the North's Korean Central News Agency, the official noted that Pyongyang "manages current and potential future challenges with its most overwhelming nuclear capabilities," according to Yonhap News Agency from South Korea. Earlier this week, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said Washington will discuss the potential deployment of strategic US assets with South Korea, namely the F-22 and F-35 fighter aircraft and a carrier strike group.
Pyongyang is not interested in dialogue with Washington as long as it "pursues a policy of hostility and confrontation," the North Korean official noted.
