N. Korea test-fires new long-range missile

North Korea over the weekend successfully completed the launch of its new long-range cruise missile, according to state media.

After two years of research, Pyongyang has successfully carried out the test over the course of two days and saw the missiles hitting the target some 1,500 kilometers away from the launch site, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said.

"The development of the long-range cruise missile, a strategic weapon of great significance has been pushed forward according to the scientific and reliable weapon system development process for the past two years," said the KCNA.
