NASA chief plans to meet with Russian counterpart

The administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Jim Bridenstine (pictured), said that the meeting with the head of Roscosmos, Russia's equivalent space agency, is in plans for the near future. Earlier, Roscosmos announced that its chief Dmitriy Rogozin will meet with Bridenstine in October, at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

NASA chief said in an interview to CSPAN that he hasn't met with Rogozin before, as the former Moscow's envoy to NATO is forbidden from entering the United States. However, Bridenstine added: "We’re working on how do we maintain this relationship given those constraints. And I’m very confident that we’ll be able to work it out."

Rogozin has been under Washington's sanctions since 2014, following the breakout of Russia's conflict with Ukraine.
