NASA, SpaceX plan next launch in late October

US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SpaceX) intend to carry on with launches of the Crew Dragon spacecraft and Falcon 9 rocket to the International Space Station (ISS) no earlier than October 23, NASA unveiled on Friday.

October's launch will be the first operational flight with astronauts of the Crew Dragon spacecraft, carrying Crew Dragon commander Michael Hopkins, pilot Victor Glover, mission specialist Shannon Walker and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) mission specialist Soichi Noguchi.

"NASA’s SpaceX Crew-1 mission will be the first of regular rotational missions to the space station following completion of NASA certification," the NASA statement said.
