Nasdaq's revenue up 5.3% YoY to $632M in Q3

Nasdaq Inc. said on Wednesday its net revenue for the third quarter of 2019 amounted to $632 million, up 5.3% or $32 million year-on-year. Non-trading revenue increased by 10% from the same period last year, mostly driven by organic growth, while Market Services went up 2% in the same span, the company noted.

Diluted earnings per share (EPS) propelled by more than 12% year-over-year in Q3 to reach $1.27 while GAAP operating margin stood at 50% in the same period, a 2% improvement compared to the third quarter of 2018. Operating income was 9% higher from the same period in the year prior, landing at $315 million.

"Our strong third quarter 2019 results reflect significant contributions from across our franchise. I am especially pleased that we have been able to continue delivering strong growth in our expanded technology and analytics offerings, while simultaneously benefiting from our rising equities market share and a busy trading and IPO environment," the company's President and CEO Adena Friedman said.

Operating expenses went up almost 2% in the 12-month period, to reach $317 million in Q3.
