Nearly 40M Russians fully vaccinated against COVID

Almost 40 million people, out of Russia's population of 146 million, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, Anna Popova, the head of the consumer watchdog Rospotrebnadzor, said on Wednesday. In order to achieve this, Russia has distributed 87,900,632 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine.

Russian authorities said they are aiming to achieve an 80% vaccination rate by November. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has reported 7,313,851 confirmed infections, with a daily average of 19,680 infections, and around 408,700 total deaths from the disease.
