New Zealand flood crisis continues amid rainfalls
New Zealand continued to battle a flood emergency on Sunday as severe rainfall in the northern part of the country prompted landslides and damaged roads.
The city of Auckland remained in a state of emergency following the floods which led to the deaths of three people, while one person remained missing as the search continued, according to the police. The Meteorological Service of New Zealand said the country can also expect severe weather on Monday in the north island, including thunderstorms and heavy rainfall which could cause flash flooding.
Commenting on the situation, minister James Shaw previously insisted that the events were related to global climate change.
