The Supervisory Board of HORNBACH-Baumarkt-AG at its meeting today appointed new
members to the Board of Management as of the beginning of the coming financial
year,
i.e. as of March 1, 2012.



Manfred Valder (64), responsible for the Operative Store Management and Sales &
Service, will retire from the Board of Management, of which he has been a member
since 1994, as planned at the end of the financial year (February 29, 2012).
This follows more than 43 years of service at the Palatinate-based DIY store
player. The Supervisory Board thanked Manfred Valder for his longstanding,
successful activity in the management of the Group.



Frank Brunner (42), as Managing Director of HORNBACH International GmbH
responsible to date for all operating subsidiaries in other countries, has been
appointed to succeed Manfred Valder as of March 1, 2012.



Furthermore, the Supervisory Board of HORNBACH-Baumarkt-AG decided to enlarge
the Board of Management from its existing total of five to seven members. Ingo
Leiner (37) is to be appointed to the Board of Management as a new member from
March 1, 2012. He will remain responsible for his previous areas of
responsibility, namely Logistics, Company Development and Inhouse Consulting.



Wolfger Ketzler will move from the Supervisory Board to the Board of Management.
The 54 year-old attorney and tax advisor, to date Managing Director and Partner
at Beiten Burkhardt Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH, Frankfurt am Main, will
assume responsibility for the fields of Human Resources, Real Estate
Development, Internal Audit, and Legal Affairs from the beginning of the
2012/2013 financial year.

March 1, 2012:
