Uponor Corporation Stock exchange release 28 October 2004 08:00

Uponor will discontinue the RTI and Plasco brands in North America
and close the Plasco manufacturing facility in south-western Canada,
in a move to streamline organisation and improve the overall
operational effectiveness. The Group will concentrate resources on
supporting the growth of its leading North American brand, Uponor
Wirsbo.

Additionally, Uponor Manufactured Structures in Indiana will be
closed and the business transferred into Uponor's existing facility
in Minnesota.

The closings will take place during first quarter of 2005, involving
directly approximately 50 employees.

The announced actions are part of Uponor's global initiative to
transform the Group from a collection of independent brands and
companies towards a more unified organisation.

Uponor Wirsbo is North America's leading brand in hydronic radiant
floor heating systems and plastic tap water systems. Uponor's North
America region recorded net sales of ca EUR 130 million (USD 150m) in
2003 and it employed close to 500 persons at year-end.
