Uponor Corporation Stock exchange release 1 February 2005 13:05

Uponor has signed a letter of intent to sell its municipal
infrastructure business in France, Uponor France S.A. based in St.
Etienne de Geoirs, to the company's local management. With a staff of
approximately 90, the company produces gas, water and
telecommunication pipes for municipal infrastructure.

Once completed, the divestment will have no impact on Uponor's
profit.

Uponor wishes to divest the business due to its failure to meet
Uponor's profit and growth targets and its weak strategic market
position.

Uponor continues to run its housing solutions business in France,
employing approximately 20 people.

The planned divestment completes the extensive restructuring
programme, announced at the end of 2003, aimed at improved efficiency
and a streamlined corporate structure. The current measures involved
in the programme will be completed during the first months of this
year. The programme has reduced the Group's staff by a total of
approximately 500, half of which stems from divestments of
subsidiaries or businesses.
