Metso Corporation's CEO Jorma Eloranta proposed for Uponor's Board

Metso Corporation's CEO Jorma Eloranta is proposed as new member for
the Board of Directors of Uponor Corporation. His election is
supported by a group of shareholders representing approx. 37 per cent
of Uponor's shares and voting rights.

The group of shareholders has also informed the company that they
will propose to the Annual General Meeting, to be held on 15 March
2005, that the number of Board members remains five and that the
current members Pekka Paasikivi, Aimo Rajahalme, Anne-Christine
Silfverstolpe Nordin and Rainer S. Simon be re-elected.

These persons have given their consent to the election.

Matti Niemi, Deputy Chairman of the Board has announced that he is
not available for re-election.

Jorma Eloranta, M.Sc. (Eng.), 54, Finnish citizen, is the President
and CEO of Metso Corporation. He is also Vice Chairman of the
Supervisory Board of Sampo Life Insurance Company, member of the
Supervisory Board of Ilmarinen Mutual Pension Insurance Company and
member of the Board of Kvaerner Masa-Yards Inc., whose President and
CEO he was in 2001-2004.

Earlier in his career, Eloranta served as President and CEO of Patria
Industries Group in 1997-2001, and prior to that, as Deputy Chief
Executive of Finvest Group and Jaakko Pöyry Group and as President of
Finvest Ltd.
