Sweden: Consumer prices rose 0.4% in February

The annual inflation rate in Sweden was 0.4% in February, down from 0.8% in January. The consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.3% in February, and rose 0.7% in the year ending in February. The CPI for February 2016 was 314.14 (1980=100), and the inflation rate was 1.1% in February. The harmonised consumer price index (HICP) increased 0.3% in February

Price increased the most for clothing, up 6.7%, and holiday package arrangements were also 6.1% more expensive, while vegetable prices rose 3.5%, pulling the index up. Lower electricity (-3.9%) and fuel (-3.2%) prices kept the index down.

The Swedish OMX Stockholm 30 index was down 1.08% at 1,408 points at 11:13 a.m. CET.

The Swedish krona stood at 9.2550 for €1 at 11:14 a.m. CET.
