Europe opens negative
Markets in Europe opened with losses on Monday following sentiment from Asia on weak oil prices. Industrial and financials were among the worst performers at the open.
The pan-European Stoxx 50 opened 0.28% in the red. Banks and energy companies were in the red, including Lloyds which was down 1.72% andRio Tinto which decreased 1.66% at 9:06 a.m. CET.
The DAX was flat with losses of 0.01%. Commerzbank fell 4.35% at 9:08 a.m. CET after announcing its revenues fell in the second quarter due to negative interest rates and low client activity.
The FTSE 100 was down 0.26% while the CAC 40 decreased 0.35% at 9:03 a.m. CET.
October Brent increased, gaining 0.55% to go for $42.36 and September WTI was up 0.5% at $40.26 at 9:03 a.m. CET. However, Brent fell 18.3% in the past 12 months and WTI lost 14.16% in the same period.
