Europe higher after first presidential debate

European markets opened higher on Tuesday as investors reacted to the first U.S. presidential debate.

The DAX grew 0.55% at 9:04 a.m. CET. The best performer was Deutsche Bank rising 1.75% at 9:05 a.m. CET. The bank’s shares yesterday plunged to the lowest level in over 20 years.

The CAC 40 added 0.69% at 9:04 a.m. CET. Renault’s stocks increased 1.8% at 9:02 a.m. CET. Kering and Orange followed with gains of 1.72% and 1.52% respectively.  

The FTSE 100 advanced 0.62% at 9:04 a.m. CET.

The euro traded flat against the dollar, buying 1.1245 at 9:20 a.m. CET. Sterling rose 0.14% against the U.S. currency changing hands for 1.2992.
