Wall Street higher amid Fed speakers

Stocks in the United States opened slightly higher on Wednesday as investors braced for comments from several Federal Reserve officials.

The Dow Jones advanced 0.26% at 3:35 p.m. CET. The best performer was Procter & Gamble rising 0.9% at 3:32 p.m. CET. The company’s chief executive David S Taylor met India’s prime minister Narendra Modi yesterday and agreed to partner with the Indian government on the Clean India initiative. Microsoft fell 0.19% as Moscow is replacing Microsoft’s products with solutions from local competitors.

The Nasdaq 100 was flat at 3:36 p.m. CET. Incyte’s shares jumped 5.4% at 3:39 p.m. CET.

The S&P 500 added 0.15% at 3:36 p.m. CET. Cintas made the biggest gains of 2.92% at 3:52 p.m. CET after releasing earnings for its first quarter that climbed 30% compared to the same period last year.

The dollar index was flat at 3:54 p.m. CET. The euro was also flat against the greenback, changing hands for 1.1215.
