Europe starts day with declines on Trump worries

Investors in Europe remained cautious on the first trading day after the White House announced that it is banning refugees and citizens from seven predominantly Muslim countries from entering the United States. Major stock indexes in Europe opened lower.

The DAX lost 0.28% at 9:04 am CET. Beiersdorf decreased 1.33% at 9:07 am CET.

The EuroStoxx 50 declined 0.38% at 9:05 am CET. Eni was 1.69% lower at 9:18 am CET and Banco Santander lost 1.05% at 9:04 am CET.

The CAC 40 was down 0.37% at 9:05 am CET.

In London, the FTSE 100 decreased 0.52% at 9:01 am CET. Later in the day, UK Prime Minister Theresa May is meeting with devolved administrations of Scotland, Northern Irelands and Wales to discuss Brexit.

The euro was flat against the dollar, going for 1.06965 at 9:09 am CET. The pound lost 0.06% against the greenback go change hands at 1.2548 at 9:10 am CET.
