Europe opens flat ahead of Fed meeting

European stocks opened flat on Tuesday with investors awaiting Fed meeting to start later today. Traders are also preparing to digest results of the Dutch general election which is due tomorrow. The DAX, the CAC 40 and the FTSE 100 were flat at 9:08 am CET.

RWE jumped 6.7% at 9:14 am CET after saying that it forecasts its 2017 adjusted EBITDA to stand between €5.4 billion to €5.7 billion. On the other hand, Engie was 1.66% in the red at 9:14 am CET after reports that it plans to make a takeover bid for RWE's Innogy. 

Meanwhile, the mining companies showed a decline in prices. Polymetal fell 2.22% at 9:03 am CET. Fresnillo and Rio Tinto followed with decreases of 0.89% and 0.83%, respectively.

The euro lost 0.15% against teh dollar, buying 1.0637 at 9:22 am CET.
