Treasuries trade flat after Fed announcement

United States government bonds were mostly flat on Thursday after the Federal Reserve decided to keep interest rates unchanged and announced the beginning of balance sheet reduction in October.

The yield on 10-year Treasuries was unchanged at 2.2676% at 11:43 pm CET, while the yield on two-year notes declined 0.39 basis points to 1.4343%. The yield on 30-year debt eased 0.08 basis points to 2.8073% at the same time.

In Europe, the yield on 10-year German Bunds rose 2.8 basis points to 0.471%, whereas the yield on 10-year British gilts climbed 2.7 basis points to 1.369%. Bond yields move in the opposite direction relative to prices.
