Report: Germany to send subs to Israel after probe

The condition for ThyssenKrupp AG's three Dolphin submarines will be delivered is the clearance from Israeli investigators, Spiegel reported on Friday. The new memorandum of understanding that the German government signed one day earlier with counterparts from Tel Aviv, according to the article, is related to allegations of corruption against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his allies.

The deal for the vessels won't be executed with guarantees just from the Israeli government, the document allegedly stipulates. The planned transaction has caused backlash after it became clear Netanyahu's lawyer David Shimron is also tied to the manufacturer. The agreement is worth €1.5 billion including four patrol boats.
