Tesla unveils electric truck

American automaker giant Tesla Inc. has unveiled its electric semi-truck on Thursday. Elon Musk, Tesla CEO, arrived in one for the presentation at Hawthrone.

The truck is battery-powered and therefore emits no exhaust. The vehicle has autopilot, which is able to automatically steer, accelerate and brake, however, the driver is required to keep hands on the steering wheel in order to use this feature. The biggest change in design is the driving cabin which is big enough so that the driver and the passenger can stand. The steering wheel is in the middle of the cabin with a touchscreen on each side.

An employee from Tesla claims that truck will be available on the market by the end of 2019. Their electric truck, however, won’t be the first of its kind. Truck companies like Daimler and Cummins already have their electric vehicles.
