Asian markets trade mostly higher as yen rises

Asian markets traded mostly higher on Wednesday after Wall Street finished a third consecutive session in the green. Investors are awaiting the United States consumer price index later in the day. Meanwhile, Toshiba Corp. traded higher after announcing it will appoint a new CEO.

Japanese Nikkei 225 traded 0.08% in the green at 6:17 am CET.

China's Shanghai Composite was up 0.13% at 6:36 am CET while the Shenzhen Composite rose 0.14% at 6:22 am CET. Hong Kong's Hang Seng went up 1.17% at 6:38 am CET.

South Korean Kospi Composite gained 0.95% at 6:18 am CET while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 traded 0.25% lower at 6:17 am CET.

The dollar reached its lowest point against the yen since November 2016. It decreased 0.61% compared to the Japanese currency to go for 107.155 at 6:41 am CET.
