China to retaliate against new US tariffs

Chinese Ministry of Commerce proposed imposing tariffs on 128 United States goods, including steel, fruit, wine and pork, the ministry said in a statement on Friday. Potential measures against US products could encompass 25% tariff on pork imports and 15% on fruit imports.

Earlier on Thursday, Chinese embassy in Washington expressed disappointment on US President Donald Trump's decision to impose tariffs targeting the country's goods, stating that Beijing is "not afraid of and will not recoil from a trade war."

President Trump announced new punitive trade measures aimed against China, targeting around $60 billion worth of Chinese imports to the US.
