Trump threatens to veto spending bill over DACA

United States President Donald Trump threatened on Friday to veto the $1.3 trillion spending bill approved by the House of Representatives and the Senate earlier in the week. Lack of funds for the border wall with Mexico and no solution for DACA recipients in the Omnibus Bill are the two reasons why the president reconsider his willingness to sign the bill.

"I am considering a VETO of the Omnibus Spending Bill based on the fact that the 800,000 plus DACA recipients have been totally abandoned by the Democrats (not even mentioned in Bill) and the BORDER WALL, which is desperately needed for our National Defense, is not fully funded," Trump tweeted.

The $1.3 trillion spending bill will secure the government will remain funded until September 30. The legislation would provide extensive funding for the US military, with a focus on national security, border protection and infrastructure. However, the bill does not include a solution for the status of young undocumented immigrants known as Dreamers.
