Amazon shares hit all-time high
Retail and cloud computing giant Amazon's shares soared on the opening bell on Friday, hitting an all-time high. The company's stock jumped almost 8%, rising to $1,638.10.
The e-commerce platform yesterday reported its diluted earnings per share in the first quarter of 2018 were $3.27, significantly above analyst projections, on net income of $1.6 billion.
Meanwhile, the tech giant announced last evening it would raise its yearly subscription fee for an Amazon Prime membership from $99 to $119.
