US claims Trump-Putin summit depends on Kremlin

Wess Mitchell, assistant secretary of state of the United States, told senators in Washington on Tuesday that the development of bilateral relations with the Kremlin "depends on the Russians."

Asked by members of the Committee on Foreign Relations about contacts of John Bolton, national security advisor, with the government in Moscow, the US diplomat said he would "call it diplomacy." The Kremlin can make the move if it wants to improve ties with the US or at least organize a summit between presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, he stressed.
