UK allies agree Russia approved Skripal attack

US, France, Germany and Canada issued a statement on Thursday expressing their "full confidence" in the United Kingdom's investigation findings regarding the poisoning of former agent Sergey Skripal and his daughter Yulia. The countries said the attack was "almost certainly" approved by a senior level of the Russian government. The UK revealed on Wednesday that it charged Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov of conspiring to murder Skripal and Prime Minister Theresa May later revealed the two belong to Russian military intelligence service. Moscow denied any involvement in the incident.

"We, the leaders of France, Germany, the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, reiterate our outrage at the use of a chemical nerve agent, known as Novichok, in Salisbury on 4 March. We have full confidence in the British assessment that the two suspects were officers from the Russian military intelligence service, also known as the GRU, and that this operation was almost certainly approved at a senior government level," the governments stated.
