SAN MATEO, Calif., Sept. 24, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tile, the leading smart location company, today announces the appointment of CJ Prober as its new chief executive officer. Mike Farley, co-founder and the preceding CEO, will continue to serve as a strategic advisor and sit on Tile’s board of directors.

“The opportunity ahead is exciting and the time is right to hand over the reins to a leader of CJ's caliber,” said Mike Farley. “We have been working closely together since he joined the board and I have the utmost confidence that Tile will thrive under his leadership.”

Prober has been an influential member of Tile’s board of directors since February and is well suited to lead the company through its next phase of growth. Prior to joining Tile, Prober served as chief operating officer at GoPro. He also held several positions at Electronic Arts, including senior vice president of digital publishing and vice president of publishing and product management. Prior to his time in the video game industry, Prober was a consultant with McKinsey & Company and served as an attorney at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati, focused on mergers and acquisitions as well as public offerings.

Prober’s primary focus will be to expand Tile’s cloud-based finding platform, exponentially grow the number of Tile-enabled partner products, and offer new digital services that, collectively, support the ultimate goal of keeping track of important belongings.

“Tile is solving a problem that virtually everyone experiences. We all misplace items and waste time and resources looking for them - in fact, people spend an average of one year of their lives looking for lost items,” said Prober. “We have an opportunity to make Tile a ubiquitous service that connects everyone to the things they care about. I’m beyond excited to join the amazing team at Tile.”

Tile gives everything the power of smart location. Leveraging its vast community that spans 230 countries and territories, Tile’s cloud-based finding platform helps people find the things that matter to them most. The global Tile community locates more than four million unique items every day. The company is based in San Mateo, CA and is backed by Bessemer Venture Partners, GGV Capital and Khosla Ventures.
