Erdogan vows Turkey will solve Khashoggi murder

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan conveyed his "deepest condolences" to the family members of murdered Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi on Tuesday, his office said. The Turkish leader said his country would do everything in its power to solve Khashoggi's murder, which Erdogan described earlier as "vicious" and "barbaric."

During a speech in the parliament in Ankara earlier, Erdogan told lawmakers the journalist's death was not the result of a mistake but rather a "planned operation," thus rejecting Saudi Arabia's official explanation of his demise.

Meanwhile, members of the Saudi royal family met with Khashoggi's older brother and son in Riyadh, hours after reports emerged the Washington Post contributor's remains were found buried in the Saudi consul general's garden in Istanbul.
