N. Korea-Pompeo meeting postponed

The planned meeting between United States Secretary of State Michael Pompeo and North Korea's Vice Chairman Kim Yong-chol has been postponed indefinitely, according to the State Department.

"Pompeo’s meeting with officials from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, scheduled for this week in New York, will now take place at a later date. We will reconvene when our respective schedules permit. Ongoing conversations continue to take place. The United States remains focused on fulfilling the commitments agreed to by President Trump and Chairman Kim at the Singapore Summit in June," the Department of State said in a statement.

Kim and Pompeo were scheduled to discuss the implementation of the goals set out at the Singapore summit and "achieving the final, fully verified denuclearization of the DPRK (North Korea)."
